Hand Cream For Dry Skin

It's unbelievable that there are ingredients in hand lotions that can harm ones health.  When you are looking for a hand cream for dry skin you shouldn't have to worry about if the product you are buying has the potential to irritate your skin or even worse to give you cancer.

One ingredient you can find in the majority of skin care products including hand cream for dry skin, is parabens in some form.  The label may say methyl, propyl, butyl, or ethyl paraben.  If any of those terms are on the label, think twice about using it on your skin or any other part of your body.

Parabens are thought by some to be a factor in breast cancer.  This chemical can also affect our estrogen levels.  Since parabens are in many of the products consumers use, no one can say for sure how much someone is getting.  You'll find this preservative in toothpaste, shampoo, conditioners, and even food products.

When are the levels dangerous and when are they safe?  The verdict hasn't come in on that question yet, so for me, I look for hand cream for dry skin and other products that have vitamin E as a preservative instead of parabens.  It doesn't hurt to error on the safe side, than to be sorry later when the studies come back that as a society we are using way more parabens than are safe.

I used to take my own massage cream to my massage therapist because I learned what she was using contained parabens.  I was surprised when recently my massage therapist reported I no longer needed to bring my own cream along.  Reason being is the cream she previously used is now paraben free.

But get this, the company's literature stated that parabens were not harmful to ones health, but they changed the formula because so many consumers thought that parabens were dangerous. I don't believe that for a minute.  Companies change their formulas because they know it is hazardous, or at least because most of the scientific studies are leaning that way, and they don't want to end up in the middle of a lawsuit, because they didn't change.   I do give them credit for changing the formula, but I don't buy their reasoning for one second.

I applaud the fact that health conscious consumers are now getting the word out and demand that the manufacturers of hand cream for dry skin and other skin care products get with the program of providing us with healthy products.  I also applaud companies for responding and changing their formulas.

There are companies out there who have always been paraben free, and they are to be applauded because they truly care for our health and have since day one.  You'll find one of these companies based in New Zealand.  I use their hand cream for dry skin, and also use many other products they sell.  I trust their formulas. Their commitment to good health is strong. If you want to find out more check out my web site listed in the bio section below.
